Homemade Laundry Detergent Recipe
How to make your own laundry detergent.
List of ingredients:
- 20g of shavings of authentic Marseille horseshoe soap
- 20g of baking soda (deodorizes and brightens your laundry)
- 7g of soda crystals
- 1L of boiling water
List of utensils:
- 1 kitchen scale (otherwise about 1 teaspoon for 5 g. 1 tablespoon for 15 g)
- 1 large container
- 1 or more glass bottles depending on the quantity you make
The steps:
- Mix everything in a large container.
- Let it cool, the detergent will thicken. Over time, if it separates, mix before each use.
USE: pour 1 dose (75 ml) into the drum or compartment of your laundry.
MACHINE MAINTENANCE TIP: Regularly descale your machine with a tablespoon of vinegar in the fabric softener compartment (makes laundry soft and odorless) and from time to time run your machine empty at 90°
INFO: With 750g of shavings you can do around 500 washes.
Scouring Cream Recipe
How to make your own homemade scouring cream.
List of ingredients:
- 50g of baking soda
- 10g of green clay
- 5g of degreasing soda crystals
- 50g of black soap
List of utensils:
- 1 kitchen scale (otherwise about 1 teaspoon for 5 g. 1 tablespoon for 15 g)
- 1 large container, provide a lid as this will contain the mixture
The steps:
- Mix everything in a large container.
- Let it rest for 24 hours. The dough will harden.
USE: Rub your damp sponge directly into the pot.
Deeply cleans all surfaces (ideal for kitchen sinks). Remember to rinse afterwards.
Recipe for Solid Dishes
How to do your own solid dishes.
List of ingredients:
- 6cl / 60ml boiling water
- 80g of authentic Marseille Fer à Cheval soap shavings
- 2 tbsp. soda crystals
- 2 tbsp baking soda
List of utensils:
- 1 kitchen scale (otherwise about 1 teaspoon for 5 g. 1 tablespoon for 15 g)
- 1 silicone mold or ice cube mold
The steps:
- Heat over low heat (around 60°).
- Mix well.
- Pour into the silicone mold;
- Leave to dry for 48 hours.
If the soda rises, simply re-humidify.
USE: Unmold and scrub with your sponge or dish brush.
